Elk Hunting in Texas
Elk Hunting in Texas Details
Texas Hunt Lodge stands as the premier destination for Trophy Elk Hunts. From mid-August to the end of February, we offer hunts for Big Trophy Elk Bulls. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting Elk in Texas, so if you desire an Elk Bull in Velvet, we recommend coming in August; otherwise, after September 1st, all our Big Elk should be hard-antlered.
We believe in letting our hunters choose the method of hunting Texas Trophy Elk that suits them best. Options include Spot and Stalk, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, Safari Style Hunting, Handgun, as well as hunting from a Blind. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level, including those with physical disabilities. Our preferred method is Safari Style, allowing us to cover more ground efficiently, although we occasionally opt for sitting at a waterhole, waiting for the big bulls to arrive for a drink.
The Trophy Elk available on our Texas Hill Country Ranches range from 6X6 Bulls in the 300-inch range up to World Record Class Elk Bulls exceeding 500 inches SCI or B&C. Most of these Rocky Mountain Elk boast genetics introduced to Texas generations ago, rendering them genetically and physically superior to Elk found elsewhere in Texas or New Mexico. A typical Elk yields around 300 lbs of meat at the processor. Texas Hunt Lodge holds multiple World Records for Elk Hunts.
