Texas Hunt Lodge is, without question, the best hunting outfitter I have ever hunted with. I’ve known Meador and worked with him for nearly ten years—I’ve been his banker for his development business in Austin—and I couldn’t be more proud or more excited to see what he has built at Texas Hunt Lodge. The lodge is truly something special, and you can feel that the moment you arrive: the quality of the operation, the attention to detail, and the genuine hospitality are all on a different level.

I’ve harvested multiple animals at THL, including a beautiful Axis buck that stands out as one of my favorite hunts to date. We hunted safari-style for 16 straight hours to find the right animal—exactly the kind of experience serious hunters appreciate. The patience, effort, and commitment to doing it the right way made all the difference, and the final result was the perfect example of the Axis species.

Jake was outstanding throughout the entire hunt. He’s not only an exceptional guide with great instincts and knowledge of the animals, but he’s also a quality human being. That matters, especially on long days in the field. Jake and Meador created an experience that was both professional and personal—one I’ll always remember and truly value.

I cannot say enough about the Texas Hunt Lodge. I have personally shot a 44″ scimitar oryx, Hungarian fallow, blackbuck and elk and all four are absolute studs. From the guides to the chef, these guys are top notch and my go to location for my exotic hunting adventures.

Had an amazing stay at the TEXAS Hunt Lodge. When we arrived we were greeted by our guide, Justin, who proceeded to tell us what we were going to be doing for the weekend. Shortly, we headed out to hog hunt. It was exciting and rewarding. Plenty of hogs and other exotics. Justin and the other two helpers were very Accommodating. Everyone was Extremely pleasant and helpful. The facilities was impeccably cleaned and the food was amazing. The chef was accommodating to Our eating habits. Everyone was very friendly and made sure that we were 100% taken care of. It was very peaceful sitting outside in the early morning listening to the birds as I drink my coffee. I recommend this place to not just hunters but to everyone. I know I will be going back. This is a MUST.

Such a great place to hunt. Mark and Jake were our guides,and man did they make our hunt experience exciting and fun filled! The lodge was awesome! Loved the Bar / Gathering area, was nice to have some drinks watch some Football and talk with the staff. Not to mention, the Food was amazing, you definitely weren’t going hungry. Thank you Texas Hunt Lodge for such a great time full of some great memories, we will definitely be back!!!!

My two teenage daughters and I had a wonderful time with Jordan and his team. Marc was an amazing guide and worked well with kids and had a lot of patience. Accommodations are top-notch and the food was amazing. I cannot thank the team enough for a very memorable trip.

Thanks to new ownership taking over last year and the material investment made into improving THL since; The accommodations were nothing less than first-class compared to other outfitters lodges I’ve visited. My room was impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, offering the perfect balance of comfort and rustic/hunting lodge charm. After rewarding days in the field, coming back to such a relaxing environment was a true pleasure.

The meals were a highlight of the trip. The chefs at Texas Hunt Lodge delivered a culinary experience that rivaled some of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. Each meal was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients and incredible flavors. From hearty breakfasts to gourmet country dinners, every bite was exceptional.

I can’t recommend Texas Hunt Lodge highly enough. Whether you’re an experienced hunter or new to the sport, they deliver an unparalleled experience. I’ll definitely be returning for another adventure and no doubt, THL is now my new and exclusive hunting outfitter moving forward!

We have done a lot of hunting over the years and have never done this type of hunt before and didn’t know what to expect. Our guide, Justin, was waiting on the porch to greet us when we pulled in. We felt welcome and at home immediately. The accommodations are excellent! Richard is an amazing chef and we even “dragged” him out of bed for a super early breakfast one morning just to be out hunting at sunrise and he was happy to accommodate. The opportunity to have so many meals of different wild game made to perfection was such a treat. Justin is an amazing guide and was put to the test in finding a wildebeest that didn’t want to be found! Justin is patient and makes sure you have the shot that’s right for you with no pressure. This was our son’s first hunting trip other than on and off hunting with us at home, he had no experience hunting anything other than deer and only the second animal our son has ever harvested and he’s ready to do it again! Justin made sure our son (as well as all of us) had the shot he needed, took his time, and walked him through it. Justin was genuinely excited for each of us! Justin has a great sense of humor and although we came in as just another group of clients, we left having made a new friend. Everyone that works at the lodge are super folks and enjoyed great conversation when not out hunting. Jordan was excellent in setting up the hunt including follow up the week prior to our arriving to confirm our arrival time. When it came time to get our license and paperwork taken care, including the taxidermy he was “all over it”. Aaron makes sure to stop in at camp and takes the time to meet his clients and get to know them as well and is super concerned that everything is going well and if there’s anything you need. The meat market folks they work with are great as well, making sure we had everything taken care of before we left including having some of the meat ready for us to take along home. All of the staff make you feel welcome and at home. Not once did we ever feel unwelcome while we were there and we would recommend Texas Hunt Lodge to anyone in a heartbeat and plan on making a return trip. Hey Jordan, I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone there at the Texas Hunt Lodge for helping me fulfill a longtime dream of harvesting a Red Stag. My mount made it home late last week and I must say, he looks fantastic! Your taxidermy team did a wonderful job, and I am extremely happy with the results. Everything about him is perfect! I can’t believe how well he turned out and your team really captured his true beauty. His cape is gorgeous, and the foam mount he is on is huge! I love how perfect his eyes are set and as you can see from the pictures I sent; he really completes our living room! The next time you are in the taxidermy shop please pass on my sincere gratitude for taking such great care of my trophy! When you see Colleen, please tell her thanks for everything and I only wish everyone I had to deal with was as professional as she is! What a pro and she was so nice when we were setting up the shipping, she even sent some pictures of the stag in the studio which I truly appreciated. I also wanted to thank you for everything. I know he could have charged me more since I went a level higher than planned, but he didn’t, and I really feel like I got a great deal and the biggest bang for my buck. When you see that bad ass Marine Justin, let him know that I really appreciated his hard work and dedication on my hunt. This stag wasn’t easy to get, especially with a bow, but Justin never gave up and stayed positive the entire hunt. And in the end, he made it happen! I also want to thank your video dude Matt for filming the entire hunt. This was something I didn’t ask for or even knew was going to happen. Matt did a great job and now in addition to my trophy I also have this killer video to watch anytime I want! How many guys can look back at a 60-yard archery heart shot on a trophy Red Stag! The Lodge and my room were top shelf and the cook made sure I stayed fat and happy! He made some awesome wild game meals that were delicious, and you guys are truly lucky to have such a great guy taking care of the food side of things. Again, thanks for helping me complete a dream hunt and please let everyone there know how much I appreciate their hard work and dedication!

I can’t say it enough, we had the best time at Texas Hunt Lodge. My daughter and I had the best time with Jake (our guide). She was able to take her first animal and did it with a crossbow. Jake was very patient with me and my 9 yr old. We had all kinds of questions, but we had even more fun. The chef took very good care of us every time we walked in the lodge. We can’t wait till the next trip.

My dad and I want to thank you and the team. Justin is the MAN; friendly, inviting, knowledgeable and most of all an awesome guide! He made sure that Pop and I were well taken care of, from guiding us to the Tatanka, to keeping our cocktails full. He went above and beyond in preparing our buffalo for transport, we are not accustomed to being this spoiled. Richard and Lisa are a fantastic team keeping the facilities and our bellies well taken care of. I look forward to returning for more of Richard’s “hash”!
