Texas Hunt Lodge offers hunts for the beautiful Rhea, which makes for excellent life-size trophies. Year-round, we provide hunts for Grey and White Rhea. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Rhea in Texas, making it a suitable trophy year-round.

We typically let our hunters choose the method of hunting Trophy Rhea that they prefer. Hunters can opt for the Spot and Stalk method or Safari Style Hunting. We use Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery to hunt the Rhea. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level.

The best shot on a Rhea is in the head with a shotgun or small-caliber rifle, such as .17 or .22, to preserve the meat and trophy. The Rhea does not have a large breast like a Turkey. The meat you’ll take home from the Rhea will be the Leg and Thighs, along with a small tenderloin.

If in season, Texas Hunt Lodge can also provide Rhea eggs to accompany your life-size Rhea mount.

Originating from South America, Rhea are flightless birds that belong to the ratite family, which also includes ostriches and emus. They are known for their agility and speed, making them a challenging hunt.
